It’s easy to overlook small issues with your roof, but it’s important to remember that they can turn into bigger problems if left unchecked. Here are a few things to look out for:
- Rotted fascia: The fascia, or the horizontal trim along the edge of your roof, can become rotted over time if it’s not properly maintained.
- Lifted shingles or tiles: If you notice that any of your shingles or tiles are lifted or missing, it’s important to have them replaced as soon as possible to prevent further damage.
- Damage from falling tree limbs or critters: Trees with branches hanging over your roof can be a hazard, as can critters that may be nesting in your roof. Be sure to check for any damage from these sources and have it repaired as needed.
While you’re walking around the perimeter of your home, it’s also a good idea to take a look at the foundation. If you notice any cracks, this could be a sign of a more serious problem. Adding gutters can help prevent further damage by directing water away from your foundation.
We hope this information is helpful! If you have any questions or need assistance with your roof, don’t hesitate to reach out.
