Our Roofing Company Is Proud to Be a Family-Owned Business

Bigger isn’t always best. That certainly holds true if you are looking for a contractor in Deerfield Beach, Florida – or whatever community you live in.

Whether you want someone to help you with a residential remodeling project in Deerfield or a roofing repair job, people usually agree that doing business with a family-owned business in your community is a good idea.

The Benefits of Dealing with a Family-Owned Business

Edelman has been studying how much we trust family businesses since 2013. Recently, Justin Blake, of Edelman, shared the results from the Edelman Trust Barometer, which studies the level of trust people have in various institutions – including government, media, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and business – with FFI Practitioner

“Family businesses are highly trusted – in fact, they are the most trusted form of business globally,” he said. “That may seem a surprising fact considering that only 56 percent of the general population trust business overall.” The survey found that 69 percent of the population trusted family-owned businesses. That high level of trust is nothing new, Blake says. In fact, he says the support has remained pretty consistent since 2013.

And that trust is not a fluke! Family businesses, have earned that trust in a number of ways.

Here are just some of the reasons why people trust family-owned businesses like All Phase Construction Contractors of Deerfield Beach, Florida, according to the  Conway Center for Family Business:

  • Family-owned businesses practice good governance.
  • The leaders of family businesses are more like to focus on the next generation, not the next quarter. Why does that benefit you? Well, as the Conway Center points out, when you are more focused on long-term growth and success, you “tend to embrace strategies that put customers and employees first and emphasize social responsibility.”
  • The Conway Center also reports that, “A study of 114 family firms and 1,200 other large companies for their organizational health found that family-owned businesses scores significantly higher on things like worker motivation and leadership.”
  • The majority (72 percent) of family-owned businesses surveyed measure success on their own terms. For family-owned businesses like ours, it’s not just a question of how big we’ve grown or how much money we’ve made. We consider things like, have we made a difference in our communities and are we taking care of our employees.
